Chris Rutherford

Chris Rutherford has been involved in the building industy as a designer, craftsman and educator since 2000. As Project Manager and International Program Manager for Nudell Architects Chris provided comprehensive architectural services for a wide range of retail, commercial and residential projects. At Nudell Architects Chris managed brand rollouts, developed master plans, designed shopping malls, car dealerships, and a variety of other projects implementing green building practices wherever possible. In 2005 Chris became Director of HLF Furniture where he oversaw the design and manufacturing of furniture and millwork projects. Working with suppliers, construction companies and architects Chris was able to develop new lines of “green furniture” and provided millwork and furnishings for LEED certified buildings throught the country.

In 2004 Chris founded Form Vibrations, a furniture and design company that focuses on residential design, adaptive reuse and material “upcycling.” In 2009 Chris co-founded ECOfficient Solutions LLC, providing energy audits and energy consultation to residential clients and industry partners. Throught this time Chris worked as an adjunct professor at the College for Creative Studies and the International Academy of Design and Technology, teaching a variety of college courses. Chris’s passion for the environment and energy and materials conservation lead him to the Weatherization Industry.

Chris is currently the Training Programs Manager for WARM Training Center, and is working with WARM’s industry partners to promote, improve and develop the Weatherization Industry in Michigan and the United States. Chris Rutherford has his BFA in Interior Design / Furnishing Design from the College for Creative Studies, is a certified Interior Designer (Chris Rutherford, NCIDQ® Certificate Number – 27404), and State of Michigan Weatherization Inspector - Level 1.
